Up for auction a rather Nice 1932 PFLUEGER No.1335-S "NORKA" FREE SPOOL LEVEL-WIND 100-300-YARD A.B.L. SALT WATER CASTING REEL WITH SCARCE ORIGINAL MAROON BOX, INSTRUCTIONS, BOX CATALOG, HANG TAG, SCREWDRIVER WRENCH & LINE SAMPLES. Tough to find in the complete early package. This example was built in December of 1932, as indicated by the inspector's stamp on the bottom of the box. The "S" suffix after the model number means it was built for salt water use, although it could be used for freshwater as well. The face plate is stamped "Pflueger NORKA No.1335 Made In U.S.A.", while the tail plate carries the six 1906 to 1926 patent numbers. Comes equipped with strong clicker, smooth level-wind, adjustable anti-backlash control, smooth-operating lever-style free spool function, removeable oil caps, tension control, external oil port, a counterbalanced handle with swirled Bakelite grip and an extra level-wind pawl nut concealed in a receptacle built into the side of the reel. The reel is in Very Good or better condition for these, showing just moderate corrosion to the top of the foot and bottom pillars. Excellent otherwise. Displays beautifully. Works perfectly and is very smooth-running. Put up in the scarce original maroon box, also in very good condition. It is solid and complete, with no damage or repairs. Carries a full front label that is correctly marked for the reel. The original instructions and box catalog are in fine condition. The leather drawstring pouch shows wear and soiling, but the "Norka" logo can still be plainly seen. Comes with the original hang tag, still attached to the reel. The "Little Giant" screwdriver wrench appears unused. Also included are four line samples, still on their original Pflueger cards. A very nice, all-original complete early combo from Pflueger.
