Description

Austria 2 florins, 1879, commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Franz Joseph and Elizabeth. The piece is .900 silver, 36 mm dia., 24.7 gms. The obverse shows a conjoined profile portrait of Franz Joseph and Elizabeth, facing to the right. The reverse shows a seated figure representing the personification of Austria, with a sword and a cornucopia. Both sides show a light toning, ranging in color from light gray to a brownish gray. Both sides show only a couple of small contact marks.
