    Description

Up for sale is a **Rare** 4 3/4" Trinket Tray / Dish from Le Restaurant Francais at the World's Fair New York 1939 in the French Pavillion.
Despite media criticism of the high costs at the Fair, Le
Restaurant Francais, which was touted as the most expensive at the Fair,
was also the most popular with visitors. In July 1939, for example, a memo
sent to the Director of Foreign Government Participation drew attention to
the fact that the French Restaurant violated regulations by jamming in two
times as many seats as authorized. The popularity of the Le  Restaurant
Francais was most likely bolstered by the high percentage of affluent
    visitors.
    Made by Rouard Paris France.
This dish was found at an estate sale in Palm Desert, California.  It was displayed
in a glass cabinet.  No fleabites, nicks, chips, cracks or crazing.  Tiny bit of wear to gloss finish and a couple of fine surface scratches.  Please see pictures.
