Sailboat Winch, Barient 22, with self-tailing, two speed.

Description

This is a Barient Winch, Made in US Number 22, and it has an early self-tailing setup at the top, and it is two speed.
As can be seen in the pictures the Chrome is worn, and it appears that it is Chrome Plated Bronze with some parts Stainless Steel.
I cleaned the bearings up to make sure everything works and nothing is stuck. The springs and pawls are all good but it needs to be completely cleaned and re-greased and reassembled. There are great Youtube videos showing how it's done.
These are also great on your pier for docking boats or even installed on a powerboat to aid in Docking and Anchor retrieval.

Weighs just over 15 lbs and stands about 6.5 inches high and 6 inches across.
This is a big heavy, very strong winch and I was impressed with how easy it was to take apart and put back together.
I sprayed and cleaned the bearings and the gears enough to satisfy myself that everything works great, but you will need to take it somewhere to get it de-greased.
